The Alumni Reunion Weekend

The Alumni Reunion Weekend is a flagship event on the UCT GSB calendar — a time for graduates from all years and programmes to return to campus, reconnect with classmates, and grow their global professional networks.

Join your fellow alumni to relive your GSB experience, deepen your connection to the school, and gain fresh insights into the evolving world of business.

The weekend features:

  • Engaging masterclasses
  • Provocative keynotes
  • Interactive panel discussions
  • Learning led by industry leaders and GSB faculty

Whether you're returning after a year or two decades, you’ll enjoy meaningful conversations, campus energy, and the latest thinking from one of Africa’s top business schools.

This year, please join us on 10-11 October 2025.

3 PEAKS CHALLENGE

A Long Standing Traditional Event During Reunion Weekend

For those seeking adventure, the Three Peaks Challenge is a much-anticipated highlight of the Alumni Reunion Weekend. This annual hike/race invites participants to tackle Cape Town’s iconic peaks—Devil’s Peak, Table Mountain, and Lion’s Head—over the course of a single day. Alumni come together for a fun, physically challenging experience that strengthens bonds and fosters camaraderie.

The day concludes with a well-deserved celebration at the GSB’s Brig, where participants can relax and share their triumphs over food and drinks.

The ARW Awards

A key highlight of the Alumni Reunion Weekend is the prestigious ARW Awards ceremony, which honours outstanding alumni who have made significant contributions to their industries or to the GSB community.

Regular awards such as the Director’s Alumni Award, established in 2007, recognise alumni for their exceptional service in promoting the UCT GSB and strengthening alumni relationships.

The awards celebrate long-term contributions and the building of strong alumni networks. It’s an inspiring moment during the reunion weekend, where the GSB community comes together to celebrate the impact and achievements of its members. The recognition of these individuals reflects the values of leadership, innovation, and service that are at the heart of the UCT GSB.

The Re-Dream Machine

From a personal photograph that Dr Duggan took of a volatile gas tanker on the most dangerous but economically significant road in Africa to some thought-provoking predictions from futurist Anton Musgrave – the 2024 UCT Graduate School of Business Alumni Reunion Weekend delivered a dose of intellectual and emotional stimulation for a group of alumni who reconnected, shared ideas, and raised funds for the next generation of changemakers.
